Her fascination with diving has re-ignited Vierad’s passion for painting – the desire to experience water, to express her feelings and to capture the nature of this element. In all its manifestations, water has inspired her in her creative work ever since: the manner and way the water flows, turns to vapour, freezes to ice, where it comes from and which knowledge it carries.
After an intensive phase of experimenting, Vierad has discovered a new way of creating her vibrant paintings. It is a spontaneous approach full of relish and an intuitive process, which she does not plan but lets unfold instinctively.
In large-format works that bend and bulge three-dimensionally, she makes the flowing process visible and palpable. The colours make their way across the painting in waves and streaks and tell their story on both sides. Vierad has the gift to reveal emotions expressively and, by doing so, she finds again her soul and events that shaped her life amidst the great variety of colours and shapes.
This vibrancy does not exclude the viewer – it evokes emotions and stimulates reflections. And it opens up room for interpretation so that one can inscribe his own self into the abstraction.
